Why Electric Blue is this Seasons Most Powerful Colour

Hi Everyone, hope the week has started well for you!

When it comes to power colours red is one that we often think of first and it remains a hot item this coming fall/winter however, the one colour that – particularly for business – is even more powerful than red is electric blue!

5 Reasons Electric Blue is this Seasons most Powerful Colour:

  1. Electric blue featured heavily on the fashion runways during fall/Winter 2016 fashion week – see: A Day at Milan Fashion Week with Funky Forty
  2. It is an eye catcher – one colour that will shine out from anywhere.
  3. Electric blue has been known to increase confidence and happiness levels
  4. It strikes the eye yet remains sophisticated all at once adding a huge dose of power to your look and overall persona.
  5. Electric blue looks great on both light and dark colour complexions.

Did you know…

The meaning of blue varies hugely depending on the exact shade. In design, the shade of blue has a huge impact on how your designs are perceived. Light blues are often relaxing and calming. Bright blues, energizing and refreshing. Dark blues are excellent for corporate sites or designs depicting strength and reliability -I guess that’s why many business suits are dark blue! Electric blue oozes power!

Last week we had fun styling Myrta in some electric blue…see what happened:

Then the question of shoes came… the good thing about electric blue is that the colour makes such a statement on it’s own it doesn’t matter too much what colour shoes you decide to wear. We could have teamed it up with light shoes and matching bag or simply gone with the black shoes Myrta was already wearing – simple!

We then decided to tone down the electric blue by adding a super pretty Kenzo scarf…trying out a few different ways of wearing the scarf..

Burgundy is another key colour this coming Fall. You will see the combination of blue and burgundy coming up everywhere.

Invest in an electric blue piece of your own and be sure you make your own statement this fall. You’ll be surprised as it is one colour that combines well with so many others!
