The ethos of Australian fashion design for 2024 is easy yet chic. Even the ever casual antipodeans have finally given up on tracksuit bottoms and replaced them with wide legged comfy linen pants. This is just the beginning of yet another fashion evolution.
One of my favourite things to do each trip to New Zealand is to find either a good Kiwi or Australian brand to feature on FunkyForty. This visit I’m ever so pleased to be featuring the Australian brand Adrift. A fashion brand I first encountered 8 years ago.
Adrift clothing designs are unique and special in that they really counter for almost every size. No matter how large or small you are you can still look stylish and stay comfy in their designs.
Today I’m showcasing 3 of my favourite Adrift looks for 2024.

Look 1: Relaxed fit shirt with linen wide legged linen trousers
A relaxed fit linen shirt with wide legged linen trousers is the perfect dressed up but comfy outfit. This is the one look that will take you almost anywhere – other than perhaps the beach – smile!
A great look for the office, or going to town, or catching up with friends. Being navy blue and off-white makes it an outfit that can easily become a wardrobe staple. Part of an otherwise capsule wardrobe with each piece also working well teamed with the rest of your wardrobe.
My tip: Try the shirt also worn over leggings. Try the trousers with a sleeveless tight fitting waistcoat. For petite people – team the wide trousers with a simple body hugging t-shirt.

Look 2: The maxi tiered dress
This is simply the perfect dress for either Spring or Autumn. A real wardrobe staple which you’ll find yourself wearing for years. I got my first Adrift maxi tiered dress about 8 years ago. At the time I wasn’t sure about it however each year it comes out again and again.
The maxi tiered dress is simply such an easy thing to wear. Always just right for those in-between times when you don’t really know what to wear.
My Tip: on cooler days wear with a slim fitting turtle neck sweater & denim or leather jacket. Also fun with sleeves rolled up and a pair of chunky sandals.

Look 3: The knee length denim dress
Denim has made a real comeback for 2024 – there’ll be more about denim on FunkyForty.com soon. However today it’s about this super cute knee length denim dress. Worn with heels it also makes for a great little office dress.
This would also look good worn with white sneakers or boots that finish just at the knee. A good way of hiding pale legs – smile!
