Hi Everyone,
How wonderful there is a romantic weekend coming up – can’t wait!
Then comes the endless pondering about what to pack. What outfits to wear and how much luggage to take. Let me tell you – from experience – that no matter how special a weekend it always is a good idea to limit the amount of what you actually take with you. Remember, unless you are perpetually changing outfits, there is a limit to what you can actually wear in 2 – 3 days.
All the same romantic weekends are special and it is good to also pack for them in a special way. Dressing special will also give you a boost of confidence. The best way to start a romantic weekend – smile!
At the end of this post I give the details of where to find everything I’m wearing – including the bags.

What to Pack for a Romantic Weekend Away
For starters, stay away from those very casual every day pieces you normally slop around in at home.
A great option is to replace your regular jeans with a pleated skirt – they simply never date. Each fashion week when I believe they have finally left the fashion scene, I will then spot them once again worn by several fashionistas!
Sneakers are great for dressing the skirt down but still letting the outfit be feminine. Sneakers also being the perfect footwear for walking around cities.
You might even think of having special luggage for your romantic weekends. Leave that regular roller suitcase at home and replace it with a smart leather carry all.
A good cardigan is always useful to pack. They can double up as pillows or scarves or even as simply another layer to everything else you are wearing.
Both the white t-shirt and a good blazer are also always useful when travelling.
Initially I wear the blazer over the t-shirt during the day. Note that I’ve made a special effort to choose a t-shirt with special lace feature on the back.
In the evening wear the blazer with a smaller camisole top underneath.
I find a pair of heels is also nice to have at night. That is provided you don’t have far to walk to wherever you’re going to have dinner – smile!
As a rule of thumb I always wear the same outfit on leaving day and the day I travel back home. This means if it’s just one night away I only need to pack whatever I am going to wear in the evening and a fresh top for the next day.
For 2 nights away I only have to think of one day outfit to pack and whatever I wish to wear in the evening. Easy really!
Be sure to wear any bulky items whilst travelling so they don’t take up space in your luggage. Plus above all be sure to limit the amount of shoes you take! Max one pair for a 1 – 2 night stay.
Remember, dressing special will also give you a boost of confidence. The best way to start a romantic weekend – smile!
Outfit details:
Everything in today’s outfit including the shoes and bags, come from a shop I recently discovered in Kilchberg, Zurich – New Collection. Situated just opposite the Lindt chocolate factory. What better way to spend the weekend than with chocolate and clothing in one – smile!
Pascale is the owner of New Collection and always has fantastic styling advice. The whole store is set up in such a way that you could almost wear everything with everything. This is the most wonderful capsule wardrobe type clothing shop that I have ever seen and yet every piece is still very special in it’s own right.
