The Denim Trend I’m Excited About This Spring

Hi Everyone,

One thing for certain – denim is featuring big again this Spring. Over Winter I loved the  long legged wide jeans which look ever so elegant. Especially when teamed with a blazer or oversized long coat. However personally I have decided this is a look to keep for cooler months.

This Spring I’m much more excited about another denim trend. The slightly shorter length trouser that is still super baggy and comfy around the hips and thighs but then tapers down revealing a touch of bare flesh at the ankle.

The trick is in making sure you style baggy jeans in a way to make the most of them and not let the look get frumpy.

The Denim Trend I’m Excited About This Spring

Baggy denim jeans are always going to look great when teamed with a slightly longer tailored jacket.

As you probably already know I am very conscious about my denim these days and definitely prefer to go for sustainable denim.

This leads me to introduce my favourite sustainable denim brand to you, The Blue Suit.

The Blue Suit was founded by 2 women, Karen Rauschenbach with a background in aerospace projects and Yvonne Vermeulen with a background in fashion. It is amazing what two women with such different backgrounds managed to achieve. Today they are ever so proud to be the first fashion brand in Switzerland offering a Cradle to Cradle Certified® Denim Collection. You can read more about what Cradle to Cradle Certified® means here.

I am super impressed with the quality and designs available at The Blue Suit.

Another new denim trend I’m excited about this Spring is the introduction of wide turn ups at the bottom of jeans. Such a fun look and now means I can wear my longer jeans either with heels or simply turned up long and then teamed with sneakers as shown above.

  1. I love the cut and wash of those jeans and agree that a longer blazer is perfect with baggy denim. 😊 I just recently heard about cradle to cradle and love the idea of buying more sustainable, less toxic products. Had no idea denim could be certified! 👍
