My ring and earrings both have a unique triangle-cut rock crystal from the Piz Beverin in Grison. They are in settings made out of certified ecological gold by a skilled goldsmith located in the heart of Zurich.

What I love

Personally I love the fact that you can choose from a few pre-made designs – see here – or make up your very own personal design. Jewellery doesn’t get any more special than both finding your own crystal and designing the setting yourself.

 

From Jewellery to Swiss Silk Scarves

Being a true artist at heart Jelena Brkic hasn’t stopped at simply making jewellery. She has also started designing Swiss Silk Scarves.

Did you know that Switzerland was once very famous for its locally produced silk? It is now 100 years since the last silk worm farm was closed down in Ticino, Switzerland. Now there is a new Swiss Silk foundation with the aim of reviving the Swiss Silk industry.

In light of this Jelena has started producing the most beautiful Swiss Silk scarves in collaboration with the Swiss Silk artist Andrea Gehri.

There is something special about Swiss Silk. You can’t tell from the pictures but it is much softer than regular silk but has a certain texture to it which means it doesn’t simply slide off your hands. Instead it really does keep you nice and warm.
