How to Create the Perfect Cosy at Home Outfits

Hi Everyone,

It’s definitely that time of year when most of us are spending a lot more time at home than we were during the warmer months. For me this is the time of year I really like to pay particular attention to what I am wearing at home.

It has always been a principle of mine to spend my wardrobe budget according to the amount I will wear something rather than saving the bigger budget for fancy one-off events and smaller budget for lounging round at home. It makes sense when you think about it. Why not spend more on what you’ll wear most days and therefore feel special every day instead of only feeling special on those days where you have a special event to go to.

As I was growing up we saved our old worn out clothes to wear at home. However times have changed. Today many of us have an abundance of clothes and no longer have the need to hold onto something that looks bad or worn out to wear at home.

This is what leads me to writing about  “How to Create the Perfect Cosy at Home Outfits”.

How to Create the Perfect Cosy at Home Outfits

  1. Go for something which is comfy but shows some shape

We all like to be comfy at home but choosing something that still shows some shape will make you feel better about yourself at home too.

I like wearing these “Influencer leggings” at home as they are super comfy and easy to wash. At the same time the slits at the bottom of the legs  give my at home look a bit of chic.

2. Match your outfit

Wearing a well put together outfit at home also makes a difference to how you feel. It really is a good idea to look put together at home, especially during Winter months when we spend more time at home.

Bonus: if you wear a well put together outfit at home and find you have to dash around the corner to the local shops or to a neighbour it is much easier to get ready. No need to totally redress, you can get away with simply adding boots and a long coat and will look dressed right.

3. Do tuck in for effect!

Whenever you go out you probably play round with the best way to tuck in a top for effect. The absolute same should be done at home too. It makes a difference to your home outfit yet it won’t change how comfortable you feel.

Often a simple tuck in on one side will do the trick. Stay away from tucking in too much as that will also make your outfit less comfy and after all we still want to feel easy cosy at home!

4. Mix and match

When buying items to wear at home think of a colour theme or pieces that can be mix and matched. This way you can create lots of different looks with a few pieces. You won’t feel like you are always dressed the same at home.

Wishing you all lots of fun creating your “Cosy at Home Outfits” that look good and make you feel good at the same time!
