With this wonderful warm spell hitting us just now in Europe it’s time to think about this coming Spring wardrobe. One staple trend for this coming Spring is the maxi dress. More to the point the striped maxi dress. It’s the one item that really should be in your wardrobe!
Maxi dresses are great as a trans-seasonal item. No need to bare those white legs or hide them in tights. Front button maxi dresses have the advantage that as it gets warmer you can leave more buttons open, revealing tanned legs. Wear them with shorts underneath for added effect, or belt them up. One maxi dress can be worn so many different ways.
Wear them boots or chunky sneakers in Spring and then as temperatures rise move on to converse and sandals. This one is a favourite of mine (available here at Violet Fish), and will be coming to Milan Fashion Week with me so stay tuned!

The One Dress We’ll All be Wearing this Spring/Summer
No surprise these pictures were taken in NZ in January. However if you’ve been reading FunkyForty for a bit you will already have read how NZ Fashion Trends are Impacting Summer 2019… see here.
Colourful Converse are also going strong for Summer 2019. Good to get a pair that go with your favourite Summer bag…
Dusky pink/rust tones seem to be a personal favourite for this coming Spring.
Favourite sandals change the look to being somewhat more dressed up. Usually believing heels should be reserved for shorter lengths – there is an exception when the buttons can be opened up as with this dress.
This is one dress that’s so versatile and free to style however you wish… You could also belt it for a more fitted look.
