How To Make the Most Out of Your Wardrobe
Step 1: Research current trends
This is an important step as it sets the ground rules for the next 4 steps. When researching the trends it’s best to use a few sources; magazines and good fashion blogs are a good start. However I always advise watching carefully the trends you see people wearing on the streets and pick out those that you like.
Begin by checking out “19 Spring/Summer 2023 Runway Trends”.
Step 2: Wardrobe analysis
Make a note – or mental note of those items in your wardrobe that totally fit into the current trends you researched above.
Maybe you saw someone walking down the street in an outfit you can replicate.
Try to think of pieces you haven’t worn in awhile.
Step 3: Colour mapping
Create outfits with different and new colour combinations from what you normally wear. This season my “goto” has been mixing blue and orange together. Thinking back I remember doing this years ago but it is certainly not a colour combination I use every year.
Step 4: Create new outfit combinations
Create new outfit combinations using those pieces identified in step 2 and using colour combinations from step 3.
Often it is because we don’t have the time to be creative that leads to us wearing the same thing over and over again. Having pre designed outfits will make it much easier for the week ahead – smile!
Step 5: Add one new clothing piece or accessory
You’ll be surprised how much impact one little piece of something new can have to so many of your existing outfits.
