How to Create 3 Different outfits with 3 Pieces of Clothing

Hi Everyone,

When 3 new pieces from the lovely Karen Millen collection arrived at my doorstep I was super excited. The pattern of the dress is so different from all my other dresses. Being geometric instead of flowers meant it even got Hubby approval.

Then I started thinking – how would I wear these pieces. Whilst Summer seems to have returned here in Europe, there is now a real chill in the air morning and evening. I get around this by having a lovely thin long knit cardigan ready – see here for my favourite available online.

This post is all about how to create 3 different outfits with 3 pieces of clothing. I love making the most out of each item in my wardrobe, cross styling is always fun.

The 3 pieces are:

  • Dress
  • Belted sleeveless vest
  • Slim fit pants

1.  Simply the dress by itself

I’ve decided to team this dress with heels and a little green bag I remembered having from earlier this year.

You could of course also wear sneakers for shopping. But this dress is really one of those perfect day to night pieces. Simply convert to heels at the end of the day.

If you work in an office you might like to team it with flat ballerinas during the day. Truly also the perfect office dress.

Available online here.

The dress is made out of a slightly stiff but soft at the same time, organza fabric. It comes with a white slip underneath which you can detach if you wish – see further down where I style the dress without the slip.

2. Sleeveless vest and slim fitting pants together

There’s something about a belted sleeveless vest that is so stylish and timeless in one. This one would also look great worn over a long floaty skirt but here I’ve decided to team it up with slim fitting pants.

This is the one look which I would not wear with sneakers. I might however wear it to the office. Just not on interview day – smile!

If you did want to wear sneakers I would exchange slim fitting pants with skinnies or black leggings and make sure they ended just above the ankle bone.

I’ve currently got my eye on this leather sleeveless vest  – smile!

3. Dress worn over slim pants

Love the fact the dress is a little see-through but not too much. Wear a black bra when you style the dress like this. You can’t really see it but it does make a statement.

I also tried wearing the dress over white shorts and then teamed up with sneakers. In fact I might wear it into town like this today – seeing fabulous blue skies outside office window.

Make sure you leave enough buttons open to get the full effect of this look.

This is not a look for the office.

Which is your favourite look? Would you wear these pieces all three ways?

  1. I adore all pieces. The dress is superb on its own with those incredibly high and beautiful heels (cute bag too). If I were to wear it with the trousers, I would wear a black camisole underneath it to create a black column.
The sleeveless top and the trousers are my favourite. That outfit looks sooo stylish.
