Sauntering down Josefstr in Zurich the other day I came across “Manu Propria” – (Latin for Signed with ones own hand). A fabulous glasses shop, run by optomitrists Andrea and Eleonora who seem to have the art of making fabulous frames running through their veins. (I managed to get a special treat for you from them – see bottom of post!).
They pride themselves in providing a professional, very honest and personalised service to each of their clients. In Manu Propria you no longer have to hunt round for the glasses that suit your face as the glasses will be made for you based on your face shape and proportions – sounds good to me!
Their customised glasses are all hand made in central Europe using high quality Italian materials. More recently they also have hand made leather cases with their own logo.
In addition to designing their own frames they will also replicate original vintage glasses for you.
The sunglass collection includes other brands. Those currently in store are: Oliver Goldsmith, Strada del sole, Funk, Cazal, Ray Ban, American Optical (originally designed for astronauts) and Sashee Schuster.
Of course childrens glasses are also available.
In addition to glasses they also have accessories – currently in store: bags by griesbach and margelisch, funky LuckUP Fingerrings by cloud 8, prime guide by Daniel Fishmann and last but not least postcards by KAT. London
Andrea and Eleonora’s aim is that you fall in love with your glasses and – like with themselves – you too become a glasses addict – so be careful 😉
