Almost a week ago since Paris Fashion Week but this seasons show’s certainly left a lasting impression.
The fist show I went to – Valentin Yudashkin showed what could be construed as being a Moscow version of fabulous ice queen attire. Whilst his previous Summer collection comprised largely of contemporary designs this Fall collection moved much more towards the exquisite. A look which Yudashikin is originally famous for. “The market is flooded with sport,” said the Russian designer. “We don’t want to waste people’s time.” This Fall collection saw a mix of clean lines and intricate details. A sublime colour palette ranging from winter white to silver. Check out his finale dress further down in the most rich tone of silver grey imaginable. Was it the designers cry for us all to disdain our black evening robes and reach for a lighter colour palette even during cold Winter months?
Next came Shiatzy Chen, equally as impressive but with a much richer play on colour. The Silk Road remains a continuous inspiration for Shiatzy Chen, but it was the rich colouring of the Dunhung Murals that inspired this season’s colour palette. Eastern and Western elements effortlessly mixed together. Note the classic lines of 50’s style in this Fall collection. Creating both new looks and a sort of timeless avant-garde.
Note the red, the red baker boy hats, white boots, fabulous play on fabric textures, the hint of denim and pink converted for Winter.
All in all breathtaking moments at Paris Fashion Week – keep scrolling for highlights of the collections mentioned above.
