Art on Your Arm in a Bag!

We saw it in Paris Spring Summer 2016 fashion week and now we know the top trend for 2016 is that a  bag needs to be much more than a bag – it needs to be a statement all of it’s own!

What better way to get into the 2016 bag groove than a bag which doubles up as “art on your arm”.4. Collection Le Printemps par JD Lorieux (1)Visiting Paris for the Spring Summer 2016 Fashion Week I came across a selection of wonderful bags by Caroline Dechamby – a Dutch self taught artist living in the wonderful Swiss mountain area of Crans Montana.

Falling in love with her collections and matching paintings I set out to discover more… These days you will often find me wearing my absolute favourite:

DSC_0557 DSC_0559 (1) Made in Italy using the finest of calf leather both outside and the lining it has a super luxurious feel to it. I love the fact that I can get away wearing winter black and then simply adding this bag to make a statement!

2. Collection Eva par JD Lorieux (1) Each bag tells a story of it’s own but what really made the difference to me was the story of Caroline herself. An artist who started from nothing and went through hardships but kept on going – proving to the world that she was not going to be defeated. A real inspiration and proof that you can do anything if you set your mind to it!

If you have a chance I really recommend a visit to Crans Montana and Carolines Art Gallery for the most awesome collection of paintings and leatherwear. Have a look at a short video on Instagram here.
