The one dress I can’t get enough of- even in lockdown

Hi Everyone,

Feeling a little bad as I write this as I do know I have written about the slip dress before (see here) but seriously I just can’t get enough of them. Slip dresses have that certain chic and comfy style to them in one. Today’s slip dress is also such a pretty colour that it’s making me smile and forget everything else around me. Doesn’t that simply sound like the best reason ever to have a slip dress – smile!

I also love slip dresses for packing as they fold away to simply nothing. You can wear them all year round – with a t-shirt in summer or simply plain. With a turtleneck in winter or  a velvet jacket as shown above. You can eat a little more and they still fit…need I come up with more reasons to love a slip dress?

In honour of Karl Lagerfeld I sometimes wear the slip dress at home too:

“Sweatpants are a sign of defeat. You lost control of your life, so you bought some sweatpants.” — The World According to Karl, 2013.Feb 19, 2019

In fairness Karl never experienced COVID-19!

This dress is from the Vanessa Martinelli silk collection, it also comes in a mini version and different colours. I also have the pale blue one.

Sometimes I wear them as a nighty, other times for entertaining friends at home or even for a special family occasion such as Christmas.

Here I have teamed it up with a velvet blazer from Caroll and my latest Atelier Avanzar bag.

I’m really looking forward to wearing this out to dinner once the restaurants open in March and will certainly be packing it for my next trip home to New Zealand as soon as the boarders open and it is safe to fly long distance again.

My slip dress makes me feel happy. I love the colour and I love the fact that when I wear it I dream of all the lovely things to come again soon…

Remember my dear readers, a positive mind will help you through this difficult time. Positive psychology, will harness a power of happiness, mindfulness, and inner strength.

Stay positive by wearing pretty colours, soft feminine slip dresses and letting your mind take you to beautiful adventures we WILL be able to do once again!

  2. Your slip dress looks stunning on you, Yvonne! I love the colour of your accessories with it too. I find slip dresses to be really flattering, although I don’t own many!
I hope all is well with you. Good to see you’re still smiling, my friend!
