Hi Everyone,
Who doesn’t like a little magic – smile?
Just before Christmas this year we went on an adventure to La Réserve Genève – Hotel and Spa. The minute we walked into the reception area it was like stepping into a whole new world. A feeling we relished to the full, especially as it was dismally grey and raining outside at the time.
It was like stepping into an African safari camp only due to it being pre Christmas with the added benefit of Christmas twinkle.
The hotel belongs to the Michel Reybier chain of hotels. I love the story – Michel Reybier is a self-made man who made his fortune in the food sector. Then he decided to follow his passion in the hotel industry, setting up Michel Reybier Hotel Hospitality group with strategically placed properties around the World.

Standing in front of the lobby fireplace. Note the animal leg features on either side.
Location:
La Réserve Genève – Hotel and Spa is like a hidden gem. Located in a residential suburb approximately 5 kms outside the centre of Geneva, right on the shores of the Lake. Only 3 kms from the Geneva International Airport.
In summer there is a Venetian gondola that will take you from the hotel pier directly into the centre of Geneva… I am definitely going back to experience this!
Rooms
There are 73 rooms and 29 suites in La Réserve Genève – Hotel and Spa. Each room unique. Ours was on the top floor with a lovely colonial feel to it. Set in the ceiling with a pretty balcony from which you would normally see the lake and Mont Blanc. Unfortunately being December and very grey weather we missed out on the view, still managing to enjoy your room.
Every comfort is though of including both a coffee machine and kettle for tea.
Upon arrival we had the most delicious bottle of house champagne waiting for us.
The bathroom was luxuriously generous with both big bath and walk in shower. Super soft fluffy towels and the hotel’s own brand of toiletries.
Dinning
There are four fabulous restaurants to choose from. Plus a new concept Réserve at Home where you can pre-order and pick up your food from the hotel.
The Lodge – a super pretty garden style restaurant open during the Summer months.
“Trained by Eric Canino, Michelin starred chef at La Réserve Ramatuelle, Nathalie Nguyen Thi shares her delicious concept of healthy cooking, in harmony with all the benefits of the Spa. It reflects her love for light, intensely flavored dishes.
At the Café Lauren, fats are banned – only delicate, delicious olive oil is used. And each dish is meticulously prepared to achieve the perfect balance between greater pleasure and fewer calories. For desserts, refined sugar is replaced by raw sugar.”
Also a great place to simply enjoy complementary tea and healthy nibbles whilst visiting the spa.
The Loti –
This restaurant although inside, is set up to make you feel as though you are in a luxury tent whilst on African safari. A truly magical feeling. Once seated I never wanted to move, quite content dreaming up all sorts of adventure stories in my mind.
Note the elephant, the symbol of the Michel Reybier chain.

Note the wine. Chateau Cos d’Estournel is one of the most prestigious vineyards in Saint-Estèphe and belongs to the hotel group. Certainly worth checking out. You can also stay there.
A Michelin-starred restaurant, offering a new menu by Frank Xu.
“Originally from Shenzhen, representing the third generation of a family of chefs and with more than 30 years’ experience behind him, he presents a menu offering Tsé Fung classics revisited with great subtlety alongside the best of Cantonese cuisine.”
Breakfast vibes
Breakfast is served in the Loti – such a cosy atmosphere with the best cappuccino in town.
The Spa
A wonderful 2’500 square meter spa oasis and a 450 square meter fitness room. 17 treatment rooms, a hair dressing salon and both indoor and outdoor pools.
The Spa Nescens draws on the scientific and medical expertise of the in-house Nescens brand as well as having La Prairie products. Next time I will certainly check out some of the better ageing programs.
Dedication to art
Throughout the communal spaces was a collection of wildlife photographs by Denis Asch. Each picture can be purchased with proceeds going towards the Care for Wild Rhino Sanctuary.

Conclusion:
Our stay at La Réserve Genève – Hotel and Spa was, I can only repeat, magical. I thoroughly recommend a visit/stay for anyone needing a little escape from every day life. All the staff were super nice and at the end of our two night stay we felt as though we had made new friends.
