Hi Everyone,
Yes, another Summer post but the concept behind today’s story is one that can be adopted in any season.
The outfit above is a new look from the New Zealand label, Stitch Ministry. I love the story behind this label. A little like Gucci and Prada, Stitch Ministry is a family business. Starting off with cashmere knitwear. Two generations later it has branched off and evolved to one of New Zealand’s most iconic fashion labels!
Trying out a new look with this outfit. Each piece can also be worn alone with other pieces already in my wardrobe.
Keep reading to find out more about how to revamp your wardrobe with only 3 new items.
How to Revamp Your Wardrobe With Only 3 New Items
Key to making the most out of any new outfit is to buy it with two things in mind:
1. It should look great as an outfit together
2. Each piece should be able to be worn with something already existing in your wardrobe.
Examples:
Yellow top:
Worn over a white tshirt and combined with another skirt from last Summer.
Yellow top and long blue cardigan:
Combined unconventionally with a red and white gingham skirt – also from last Summer.
Note that playing with all these different colour combinations works best if you keep accessories such as bag and shoes fairly neutral. If they were too busy the whole look would loose it’s purposeful charm.
Khaki cropped pants:
You can’t go wrong by combining khaki and white. The two complement each other beautifully. Adding a pop of colour with the bag, gives the outfit that bit of needed pep!
Back to the new outfit as a whole:
Standing at Milford Beach, Auckland where I spent a large portion of my childhood. After work my Dad would take me here for a swim and then treat me to an ice cream…
To show you the detail on the back of the top. Also the cardigan – I love the fact the sleeves are 3/4 yet at the same time it’s super long at the back.
