How to be Both Trendy and Classic this Fall 2018!

Hi Everyone,

The coming Fall 2018 promises to be an extreme season when we talk Fashion trends. Hot on the list are things such as mixing tartan with animal print, faux fur with denim and print. The colour rust is also a big runner this season – rumour has it that this is the one colour to suit every complexion!

However how many of you are really going to feel comfortable going all out and wearing these fabulous fashion mixes? I can hear so many of my dear friends saying “not for me thanks”.

Not to worry – it is still possible to be both trendy and classic in this Fall 2018. Keep reading to find out how!

How to be Both Trendy and Classic this Fall 2018!

Tip 1: Colour blocking

Colour blocking works for even the most conservative of wardrobes and can be super effective if you go for a new colour. Both yellow and the lime green of this shirt will be featuring large this Fall – why not have a play and see what the colour looks like on you.

Tip 2: Play with your styling

Move away from thinking a shirt needs to be either tucked in or out. Tucked in at the front and out at the back gives a more slimming look and adds a bit of fun to the whole outfit.

Tip 3: Have a fun large scarf ready

Especially this Fall – a large scarf used as a throw over for a little extra warmth will add an edge of trend to your look!

Treat yourself to one with this seasons colours – I fell in love with this blue and mustard one.

Tip 4: Go for more than one new colour

Teaming rust and lime in one outfit is a total new experiment for me and yet it works. Dare to play with colour a little more this season. As there is no pattern the overall look still looks classic despite the colour mix.

A note on the side – rust is apparently a colour that suits all skin tones so why not give it a try in any case.

Tip 5: Add one new (good quality) item to your favourite look from last Fall

This one tip has to be the most important ever for cultivating a wardrobe that always looks fabulous without spending a fortune.

Wishing you all lots of fun being both Trendy and Classic this Fall 2018!

  1. very nice I love the new colour combination and it somehow looks like Autumn which is not far away

  2. I think this looks fantastic. I wanted to copy you immediately so I went to the site for the trousers and the shirt. Couldn’t find them, wanted to ask you for a link when I saw their prices. Oops.. I do own clothes this expensive but that is because I was confronted with them in the shop and couldn’t resist. But I won’t go looking for them haha. Perfect trousers though. And shirt. Quality shows.

    1. Thanks Greetje. I know what you mean about the price but I do feel it is worth investing in one expensive piece each season – this has always been my philosophy. Not a whole wardrobe full – but simply one piece per season 😉

      Have a lovely week,
      Yvonne
