How I Wear Pink in Winter

Especially those days when Winter seems like a sea of black, pink can be such a refreshing pop of colour. Just right to take the edge off grey skies and ice cold weather.

One of my favourite things to do is wear Summer weight clothing in Winter. Something I learnt from my daughter when she was 4 years old. Talk about learning from the young – smile!

At the time it was mid Winter and I bought her a pastel apricot outfit for Spring. Only she had no intention of waiting until Spring before wearing her new outfit and simply styled it with thick grey tights and a coat. It looked so great that I decided to copy the principle of Summer styling in Winter ever since.

How I Wear Pink in Winter

1. Dressed for Dinner

Let’s face it, even in the midst of Winter most places in Europe stay cosy and warm so it’s easy to wear lighter weight fabrics at night…

I still like to add black stockings however. At the same time the brown bag is ok as it softens up the black against the pink.

 

2. Out on the Streets

When it comes to wearing pink Summer weight fabric out on the streets my favourite is to team it up with plenty of charcoal grey knit.

Worn here with oversized knit scarf and cardigan. Of course in reality I had topped the whole look with a charcoal woollen coat as well.

Simple styling tricks – however sometimes it’s the simple tricks that are the best. They never date and can be used for many different outfits.
