Hi Everyone,
Visiting Baselworld last week the Luminox story really fascinated me. It is the one watch brand that is making a real difference to the World due to it’s super Luminox Light technology.
Did you know this is the watch brand worn by the Unites States Navy SEALs, amongst other elite forces worldwide!
Looking at their website I am totally in awe at the amount of meaningful partnerships Luminox has. See one example with Thailand and ghost nets recovery and sea turtle conservation.
This years exciting news is the collaboration between ICE-SAR, the Icelandic Association for Search and Rescue and Luminox. In honour of the 90th anniversary of ICE_SAR, Luminox have created a limited edition watch.

Baselworld 2018 Live Report – Luminox New Limited Edition
New Limited Edition ICE-SAR 1000 series
ICE-SAR rescuers operate in extreme conditions. With it’s 93 teams and a force of over 8’000 volunteers. They need a watch with proven reliability on all sea, air, land and land dimensions. There are months where Iceland is in partial or total darkness.
Unique to Luminox watches are the micro gas lights on the hands and hour markers. This unique self-powered illumination system – the Luminous Light Technology, provides a constant glow for up to 25 years.
Luminex created the ICE-SAR series of watches with CARBONOX casing for robustness and ultra-light weight. A hard sandblasted dial, interpreting the lava fields that cover 30% of Iceland. Note how on some models the 12 index is replaced by the number 112. This is the common emergency number that can be dialed for free in several countries. There are four models of the ICE-SAR 1100 series.
The Limited Edition model is the ICE-SAR 1000 series watch. Only 900 units are produced globally and each watch is numbered on the back. The main colours are blue and red. A tribute to the colours of the Icelandic National flag.
The Limited Edition watch is the favourite of CEO Bernd Stadlwieser.
