3 Fall Fashion Hacks

Hi Everyone,

This season it’s all about having fun with colour. It’s the season for daring to mix and match colours you might not have previously thought about pairing. One of my personal favourites are pink and green together. Fortunately there is plenty of both colours available in the high street shops this season.

My outfit today is from Bongenie-Grieder and can also be found online. Direct links later on in this article.

Bongenie-Grieder has been one of my favourite places to shop ever since the very beginning of arriving in Zurich. Love the fact that they have a mixture of trendy pieces as well as plenty of timeless classics. You’ll find all my favourite brands here including Zimmermann. You also find things at every budget here – not just super expensive!

Keep reading for the “3 Fall Fashion Hacks”.

3 Fall Fashion Hacks

The 3 Fall fashion hacks are based on this seasons prevalent trends:

  1. Wear Summer longer by adding a vest to your outfit

The vest is back on the trend list with vengeance. The extra warmth it gives makes it a super practical item to have – simply wear over a summer dress or a new Fall dress.

Now any dress in your wardrobe has two totally different looks – with or without vest.

This vest is from Ganni and currently available online here.

2. Stick to plain coloured maxi dresses with a unique style

As tempting as it might be to go for pretty print dresses this Fall is all about having a good set of basics in your wardrobe. Going for dresses made of one block colour makes it easier to team them up with anything else you might have.

For example the dress I am wearing today would also look great teamed with a tartan trench or blazer.

Note the special features on this dress such as the wide collar, extra long sleeves and the fact it flares out at the bottom. It is these little nuances you should look out for when choosing a new dress.

This dress is Remain Burger Christensen and available online here.

3. Add a bit of fun with your bag

You can tell a lot about a person by simply looking at their handbag. This doesn’t mean it has to be Dior or Louis Vuitton, Prada, Gucci etc.

This Fall it’s all about adding that pop of colour. Show the World that you are open to something new and having a bit of fun.

Above all the most important thing about any bag you have is that it is in good condition! This is much more important than whatever brand it may be…

This bag is Marc Jacobs and available online here.

  1. I got fully focussed on the bag. It’s one that I have had my eye on for quite a while but I think it is too expensive. Forgot that it is a Marc Jacobs; thought it was another brand. I do have one camera bag and it is not very practical (I know…a lot of fashion items aren’t). So I am not going to buy one. But still love it.
As for your vest example…I have a sleeveless puffer jacket which I might try over a dress. Thanks for the inspiration.
