Todays article is designed to make you smile. Talking about one of my favourite topics – how to have fun with your clothes. My whole life long clothes have managed to put a smile on my face and I’m a great believer that there is much more to dressing well than simple aesthetic pleasure.
Prelude:
The tulle skirt has been a favourite of mine since teenage years. My Mother had a whole collection of pretty tulle skirts which she wore as petticoats in the late 50’s. I wore them in the late 80’s to go clubbing. Unfortunately she got rid of them once I left home but this white one really reminds me of those same beautiful skirts I wore back then.

How to Have a Dior or Carrie Bradshaw Moment
The Dior moment:
Dior for Spring 2023 was basically a sea of black and white – as can be seen in a previous street style report here.
Each Dior outfit for Spring 2023 also has a hint of the past in it. plus tulle skirts once again featured large.
A beautifully tailored black blazer is also essential for any Dior inspired outfit.
To achieve that Dior moment you can choose between the chunky boot or a sling back pump. Two very different looks yet both Dior inspired.
ps: Please excuse the Gucci bag – not really very Dior but the only fitting black bag I own – smile.
In summary, achieve your Dior moment by:
- Wearing a total black and white outfit
- Wear tulle
- Include something tailored in your outfit
- Choose between bulky boots or sling back pumps
The Carrie Bradshaw moment:
Having a carrie Bradshaw moment is basically as easy as wearing a pretty tulle skirt.

Love tulle skirts, yet I have never been able to find one which suited me, was the right length (long) and the right colour. Perhaps now that they are hot, there will be more choice.
You definitely look the part dear. And eh… a Gucci bag is better because wearing everything of one designer isn’t very imaginative.
