Hi Everyone,
Spring /Summer 2020 is going to be largely dominated by pastels. Personally I can’t wait to get all my pastels out there dancing on the streets – how about you?
The trick to pastels is that you have to choose colours that suit your current mood. This will always bring out the most of your look. Are you in a colourful mood? Then mix up the colours. When you feel more serious or reflective it’s often best to stick to a one colour ensemble. Also take care that the pastel tone worn close to your face suits you. Wrong shades of pastel close to the face can make you look pale and tired. You can still wear these colours if you like them, just wear a different colour closer to the face.
In honour of the comeback of the pastels this post shows you 20 different looks you might like to copy now. All photos were taken by me during New York, Milan and Paris fashion weeks.

Loving this MaxMara pastel green ensemble – seen in Milan earlier this year.
Also MaxMara – currently available in store but the photo was taken on the runway Milan August 2019.
Pink MaxMara street style. Love how this outfit is teamed with pastel green pumps.
Pastel blue teamed with pale grey boots…
Everything in blue, even the bag and sunglasses with the black sandals offering some contrast.
From the Spring/Summer 2020 Anteprima show – one of my favourite collections from the brand ever.
From Spring/ Summer 2020 the Alice & Olivia presentation in New York.
You can’t go wrong with a pink suit…
A darker shade of pastel pink…
A touch of pastel pink teamed up with grey o the Armani Spring/Summer 2020 runway.

Cividini Spring/Summer 2020 runway. A perfect way to mix and match pastel shades.
Cividini Spring/Summer 2020 runway. Note the sheer fabric with shorts worn underneath. Something to be adopted in so many ways, especially with dresses or skirts that open down the front.
The silky pink skirt – note this is a good example where she chose to wear cream closer to the face. The salmon pink closer to the face would have made less of an impact.

Here the pastel lilac has been offset with a bright green bag for impact.

I will let this trend pass me by. Pastels and I don’t go wrll together. No biggie. It is good to know what to take and what to leave.

THat’s true – can’t like every trend. I also have things I choose to leave like skinny figure hugging stretch dresses.

Hi Meena,
There are items you can buy at the end of the post. Plus where I have named the designer you can either click on the link or look up the current collection of that designer as they are all Spring/Summer 2020 collections. Hope this helps.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Yvonne
