Puffer Coats Taking on a New Dimension for 2020

Hi Everyone,

Here in Zurich temperatures have taken a sudden dive over the past week, including our first snow in the city for the season. Last Sunday I went out of the house planning on going for a walk wearing a short faux fur jacket. Needless to say that due to temperature the planned walk quickly converted into hot chocolate and carrot cake in the nearest cafe! So I’m super happy to write about puffer coats taking on a new dimension for 2020.

This Winter it’s out with the cropped puffer jacket and in with the new long version. Did you know the puffer coat originated in the UK nearly four centuries ago? However it was not until 1965 that the first model similar to the one we know today was born.

Winter 2020 is all about the oversized puffer coat style and outright color-block. It is  ultra long and minimalist, and enough by itself to raise one’s fashion status!

You can see from the outfit I’m wearing today – a simple knee length white skirt and plain thin sweater, yet with my long oversized puffer thrown on top the statement is made – as easy as that!

I like to team my long puffer jacket with biker boots but you could also team with skinny jeans and stilettos for a bit of a style breaker! Just not in the snow (please – smile).
