Max Mara’s Summer Secret – MFW SS 2017

Hi Everyone!

“Creative, radical, passionate – a woman with a vision years ahead of her time.”

Sounds fabulous doesn’t it –  the opening line Max Mara use to describe the secret behind their Spring Summer 2017 collection. Inspired by the great Italian-born architect Lina Bo Bardi who spent a large part of her career in Brazil in the middle of last century. Famous for her concrete and plate glass structures with rainforest growing through them…particularly her home “The Glass House”.

Prevailing trends of the show were the continuation of the Jumpsuit. Tops and bottoms of identical colour and fabric. Fluffy jumpers worn over slim skirts – a trend you can already start this Fall! Note the shoes – just when we thought we could start eliminating wedges here they are with vengeance. Croc style wedges of all things – potentially inspired by the fact plastic crocs are great forrest wear? Bigger bags – just when we all start getting used to the nano trend, larger bags are back on the runway – well at least we’ll once again have enough storage space – smile!

Discovering Max Mara’s Summer Secret – have fun taking a virtual trip into Brazil…
