Hi Everyone,
One of the most interesting things about fashion shows each season is their chosen location. The GAUCHERE Summer 2023 Défilé was held at Passage des Jacobins in the 1st arrondissement. The premises that were designed and built in the mid 1990s but currently empty consist of glass walls that are partly blind and cracked today, cement columns and a heigh glass ceiling.
The show itself was super interesting too, portraying 6 key Spring/Summer 2023 trends that have been prevalent throughout many of the shows this season. Interesting to see toowere the 6 looks featuring hand painted work by the artist Camille Henrot.

Gauchere Paris Fashion Week SS 2023 – 6 Key Trends
-
Monochrome oversized tailoring
Oversized tailoring is a trend that has been creeping into the fashion scene for a few seasons now. It certainly seems here to stay for next Spring/Summer too.
2. Backless
It happened numerous times this fashion week that an outfit looked relatively regular from the front and then when the person turned around it was if the whole back had gone. This dramatic no back effect is certainly a trend that it being taken to a new extreme this coming season.
3. Cut outs
We saw cut out dresses already in the high street stores this Summer. It is obviously not just a flyby trend. The Spring/Summer runways in both Milan and Paris were full of the cut out dresses.
3. Gathered seems
5. The new denim
The new denim being lower waisted, very loosely cut and the grunge effect left to some sort of abstract painting on them.
6. Silk pieces with lace inserts
