Now is a time when many of us are placing more emphasis on our homes. I’ve been keeping my eyes open for new innovative design ideas and was ever so pleased when I found out about the Elite Design Award.
Much more than a simple bed making company… In order to remain at the forefront of their competitors Elite understands the importance of innovation. Not only when it comes to the functionality and comfort of a mattress but also with regard to design.
As such Elite launched it’s very first international design competition in October 2017. A huge success with nearly 200 participants from 45 countries.

Elite Design Award 2020
MIOTA, 1st Prize
Designed by Sergio Luis Torres Gallué and Quinones Torres from Spain. The headboard design is inspired by accessories usually used in winter such as ear protectors, headbands, caps and headphones.
The headboard is suspended in the air but connected to the frame, forming a unique piece of furniture made in the spirit of haute couture.
METAMORPHOSIS, 2nd Prize
Designed by Erman Bazman and Buket Hoscan Bazman from Turkey.
When nature meets design – the Metamorphosis bed combines the elegance of high-end couture with the aesthetics of nature.
I love the fact it has specifically been designed to be either placed against a wall or in the centre of a room.
Note the invisible wooden side table on both sides, creating a special place for personal items such as jewellery, books, alarm clock etc.
