Does a Woman Need a Colourful Bag?

MASHA KEJA

Hi Everyone,

Summer is in full swing – especially here in Europe. I love the colourful outfits you see walking along the streets at this time of year. But does a woman NEED a colourful bag?

When I first arrived in Zurich I was 25 years old and had been away from home (New Zealand) for only one year. My entire possessions could be packaged up into three large boxes and I owned exactly one bag! I also only owned one pair of shoes at the time. The bag was Bally (black)  and shoes Russell & Bromley (loafers), but my minimalism truly shocked my Godmother who was lovely enough to take me in for the first few months in Zurich.

Things have somewhat changed since then. Recently my Aunt came and stayed and referred to my office as “the bag museum” – hehe!

So does a woman NEED a colourful bag? The answer depends on how much your wardrobe and looking well put together means to you.

Taking pride in how we dress and making the effort to look well put together is a gift to both ourselves (better self esteem), and for those around us. Think of the joy you , yourself get from looking at a well dressed person. Remember the effects of unconscious bias!

Of course you can be well dressed without owning a colourful bag. However a colourful bag could also be the one thing that really does make a difference to your overall look.

Personally I love playing with colour in Summer ad making my outfits match in a fun way.

The black strap purposefully matches the black on my sneakers and the pink bag was purposefully chosen to prove you can wear many different shades of pink at once and still look put together.

My bag is from MASHA KEJA – a super cute designer from Paris.

A little story:
Masha Keja spent her youth in Paris, started work as an apprentice at Lancel, later becoming their Head of design for Womans collections.
Later she also accessorised collections for Christian Lacroix.
No wonder her bags are so beautiful…

My pink bag comes in a number of fun colours:
