Choosing accessories is the last step of every design project but certainly not the last in importance. In fact choosing the right home accessories and placing them carefully can be the one thing that makes the difference.
Home accessories are an indication of your personality, they are the pieces that make your home unique. It is important to select them wisely and have a specifically allocated budget for accessories.
All the pictures in this article have been taken at the Zingg Lamprecht showroom in Zurich. This year Zingg Lamprecht is celebrating their 120th Birthday. This is why we have 12 home accessory trends to review today.

12 Home Accessories Trends We’ll See in 2022 – according to Zingg Lamprecht
1. Curved Silhouettes
Anything curved is the trend of the day. Gone are crisp sharp edges. Today’s interior is looking to be kind, soft and rounded. This ruling also extends to home accessories.
The fabulous Patroclo lamp designed by Gae Aulenti on 1975 for Artemide, pictured above fits in perfectly with the curved trends of 2022.
2. Chocolate Brown
Chocolate brown is back! It almost feels like the return of the 70’s. Luckily though this time we’re not restricting chocolate brown to be teamed with orange or green shag carpets and mosaic tiles.
2022 sees chocolate brown teamed in a much more timeless manner. It is being used in a way to add eternal calmness to a room. Minotti shows this off to perfection with chocolate table and cushions offsetting the neutral toned sofa.
3. Patterned Walls
Spending more time at home has lead to the trend of more texture and depth being added to spaces. A beautiful pattered wallpaper adds real character to any room. Letting the mind wander to places far away.

4. Decorated Tables
With many of us spending more time at home emphasis is also placed on creating special spaces at home. The dining table being the easiest place of all to create a statement. Something that will lift up anyone’s spirits and make any guests feel super welcome.
This is the year when it truly is the little things that matter.
5. Sustainability
Sustainability is certainly the new sexy.
Zingg Lamprecht has for some time now been making sure all suppliers comply with the relevant sourcing/production regulations. For 2022 they predict consciously-designed and responsibly-manufactured products to be at the forefront of every home.

6. Earthy colours and neutrals here to stay
Whilst it is true we are moving away from that all too crisp white, neutrals and earthy colours are here to stay.
Coupled with matching throws and pillows it’s those earthy tones that can create the most welcoming home spaces ever. Exactly what is needed for 2022.
7. Interesting sideboards to complete a room
It doesn’t just stop at the lounge.
Sideboards are a huge theme throughout the home for 2022. Add an Asian touch to your sideboard for an even trendier effect. Something special to make you look forward to the new travel period soon to come.
8. Green
There is a strong move towards adding a touch of green to your interiors. Be it with throws, rugs or this Minotti green side table pictured above.
Green holds fond memories for me as at the age of 12 I made my Mum put wall to wall bright green carpet on the floor in my room coupled with geometric designed green wallpaper. She’d had visions of pink and flowers but fortunately green won and the colour scheme (whilst updated) still remains today.
9. Up-and-Coming Artwork
Gone are the days of wanting a famous, well known piece of art in your home. Today it’s about individualism and discovering the new. Supporting up and coming artisans.
This sculpture model “Erosion” made out of carved ash and acrylic is just one example of many interesting art pieces to be found at Zingg Lamprecht.
10. Colourful throws
Under the umbrella of individual cosiness, colourful throws are one of the biggest interior accessory trends for 2022. Choose a colour that makes you happy, a texture to snuggle into and every cold dreary day will instantly seem brighter.

11. Pop of Colour
The all white is certainly out for 2022 and what better way to pep up your home than adding a pop of colour.

I’m imagining adding colourful Papagei tulips to welcome Spring and complete the cosy home vibe.
12. Statement candles
Adding light into our lives wherever we can is a big theme of the times and what better way than through candle light.
Allow yourself to light your candle all day through for added warmth and again cosiness into your home.
