Shoe Addict Preview – Milan Fashion Week Fall 2017

Let’s face it, we’re all shoe addicts aren’t we?

This post is a summary of some of Milan Fashion Week’s fabulous shoe presentations. Read on to find out what Casadei and Joshua Sanders have in store as well as top trends for the coming seasons till Fall 2017/ 2018.

Casadei

Casadei is a shoe brand that has certainly come a long way since it’s beginning in 1958. Starting in a small workshop, where Quinto and Flora Casadei created their first collection consisting of sandals especially designed for tourists along the Italian Riviera. Today the collection is amazingly sophisticated very cleverly  capturing classic timelessness and top trends all in one

The Fall 2017/ 2018 collections had both velvet and metallic fabrics. Heels of varying heights – it’s not the height that counts, more the detail in the heel itself. It was so interesting to hear that Casadei register each and every one of their heels. Fur featured large too but mainly in their “Alps” collection which really takes hi-tech glamour to a new level.

 

 

Joshua Sanders

Famous for his cult sneakers Joshua’s fashion journey started whilst he was at university. His turning point came in 2011 whilst trend hunting in Paris – the idea came to him of blending Italian craftsmanship with NYC fashion taste.  Thus his vision was formed “HEART IN NYC, MADE IN ITALY”. The first collection along those lines was produced in 2012, an instant success and he’s never looked back.

Going through the collection I personally felt Joshua Sanders was one brand everyone needs in their wardrobe – even if it’s just one pair!

Conclusion:

Hang on to any metallic  shoes you currently own with your life – a trend that’s here to stay! If you’re one of my dear friends that can’t warm up to the bow shoe – you’ll have to get over it as bows on loafers are only moving higher up the trend ranks the next two seasons! Invest in slip-on mules and good quality faux fur.
