Hi everyone,
Let’s face it, we all have those days where imagination fails us and we simply don’t know what to wear…
The great thing about Autumn is that there is a simple answer to solve this problem in a second and still end up with an outfit that stands out or looks special in some way. So keep on reading for the one simple solution when you don’t know what to wear.
The Solution when You don’t know what to Wear
The solution is as easy as this – you simply dress all in black and then add some sort of statement coat. In this case I’ve opted for a tartan trench that I recently found in Zara.
You could also add an animal print coat or simply a brightly coloured coat for the same effect. Quilted coats and jackets continue to be popular. Peter Hahn has a lovely selection with different patterns – click here for inspiration.
Then completing the look with a very old brown Louis Vuitton bag of mine. Based on Vogue it is quite clear that now is the time to dig out bags from the 90’s or early 2000 as they are now coming back into fashion.
I like to add the Gucci belt as an additional statement which really stands out when wearing all black.
Note the new booties recently found in Paris for something else totally new this season…
Most simple trick ever – right! Now it’s your turn to try.
Outfit Details:
Coat – Zara
Trousers – Paradis des Innocents
Shoes – Avellino
Bag – Louis Vuitton (this seasons hottest Gabriela Hearst Bag)
Belt – Gucci

Love the outfit! Especially the pants and shoes!
Blog request… I live in Los Angeles, where we have trend overload all the time. I have invested in a few of the (flattering) newer jeans & pant shapes but I’m ready for some flattering fresh skinny or cigarette jeans and longer lengths. We have some great local brands, especially JBrand & Mother. Noticed that Jbrand has photoready HD now, which is great, and tried on at a store. I’m an athlete with small bones, so the 24 is a bit loose. Since we are easing up now, I of course don’t want to buy into that skinny jeans as girdle look, but the legs and below the seat were rippling on the 24. Do I go one size down? I would love to see a blog on how to do skinnies and cigarettes right, right now. Also, how to choose the right rise. I’m leaning toward mid rise and hip bone rise, not belly button high rise. I have a pair of skinny high rise no stretch jeans that are easy fit everywhere but when jeans are beefy but have comfort stretch, how should they fit? The sales lady told me to order the size 22 but that size would have to stretch just to close.
I noticed that you are tiny too, so you have probably figured this out. 🙂
Hello Dear, I get your issue more than you can imagine 😉
My solution to your issue would be to buy the size 24 that are a little loose on you and wear them with a statement belt that simply puts the whole outfit together – this is what I do.
Hope this helps.
