Wearing a sweater over a dress sounds easy enough but there are actually a few tips and tricks to watch out for. Otherwise there is that ever so slight risk of walking out the door looking a little like a sack of potatoes instead of fabulously styled. Who wants to do that – smile!
Tips and tricks depend on the style of the sweater.
A turtle neck sweater is always the most care free version to style. If it is cropped or tight fitting simply pull over your dress and you are ready. However oversized turtle neck sweaters are best teamed up with a belt. Stick to a relatively thin belt to avoid too much cluster on the overall look.
Round neck sweaters do need something along the neck line for full effect. It can be a simple silk scarf or the dress collar. Alternatively you could choose to wear a bulky large scarf around your neck. Just don’t wear it plain as this always looks like there is something missing.
V-neck sweaters worn over a dress will always show off the top of the dress a little. A lovely detail to have for button up dresses or dresses with collars. However avoid wearing v-neck sweaters over simple closed round neck dresses.
A few more tricks to follow in this post. All items worn with exception of glasses and boots are from a “Favourite Shop” of mine La Tienda. They currently have a fabulous sale of 30 – up to 50% on fabulous Winter items. It pays to get in quick whilst he best stock is still available.

Add a pop of colour with a touch of pink. This has to be a sure way to brighten up the dullest of winter days. I don’t know about you but we have been having the thickest of fog all day for two days now. I almost feel as if wearing bright pink is a necessity in order to be seen at all.
