How it came about:
Come Cook with FunkyForty by the Lake!

Did you know that before I started FunkyForty.com many of my friends asked me to start a food magazine. As a compromise I’ve been posting recipes on a monthly basis – smile.

Most recipes are sweet as my Father was a well known “Swiss Baker” in Auckland, NZ. As I was growing up he had his own bakery called “Sugar n Spice”. He was often featured in local newspapers for his amazing Easter chocolate creations and was even commissioned to bake the wedding cake for the King of Tonga.

In the very early days our kitchen used to turn into a chocolate bunny factory before Easter. My Mum would be responsible for carefully tying red silk ribbons around each chocolate bunny. I was commissioned with the job of: “staying away from the chocolate”.

Today I still love chocolate and have created my very own Zuri Geschnetzlets recipe with chocolate in it. The trick is to use just enough to enhance the taste but not too much that it truly tastes of chocolate. I’ll show you how this is done over lunch – smile!

Raphael, the hotel director of Vitznauerhof is a dear friend of mine. One Sunday afternoon  whilst enjoying the lake view he asked me if I would like to do a kitchen pop up in Sens this coming Spring Summer. Having never done anything like this before I was a little nervous but my hubby nudged me and said “yes, she would love to”.

We had a trial Kitchen party in March and it was so much fun I am certain that anyone who joins will like it so much that they can’t wait for the next one – smile!

Sponsors:

For the Kitchen party in May I’m ever so excited at the two wonderful sponsors:

Hendrik Stahel – originally a surgeon with a passion for champagne. He now imports carefully selected champagnes into Switzerland. A selection of which will be available to drink as the lunch apero.

Martina from La Gioia Ascona – a talented jewellery designer who normally has her beautiful pieces showcased in her luxury mini resort hideaway in Ascona.

We can’t wait to have a great Sunday with YOU!
