Do you already have yellow in your wardrobe or is it the one colour you never thought of until now?
I could have named this post “The power of the random purchase” as it was years ago whilst shopping in NZ with one of my dear friends that I came across this yellow top from Witchery.
Thinking it was super pretty and on sale at the time I randomly bought it without analysing too much – let alone having a plan about what I would wear it with. Years later it is still such an important part of my wardrobe that when it is no longer wearable I know i’ll have to replace it with another yellow item!
So why did this yellow top become so important?

1. It brightens absolutely every outfit – I love wearing this in summer over pale trousers / shorts and skirts or alternatively mix it with a dark suit to brighten up the look.

Love it! Yellow is such a fabulous color and it looks amazing on you! I have to go for the more mustard yellows with my skin tone, but I do love it. That ASOS wrap blouse is rigt up my alley!

I love yellow, but it doesn’t look good on everybody. Some shades of yellow make my face look pale/greenish BUT bright colors like your top are great on me. I also purchased my first yellow without thinking because the price was good, but since then I add one or two yellow pieces every summer. This year I bought yellow purse and it is my favorite purse for summer. I brightens the most boring outfits.
I totally agree with your comments Irina – you have to be careful about the shade of yellow – personally I too tend to stay away from light mustard yellow. I bet your yellow purse looks adorable.
