Last weekend I was lucky enough to be invited to the Black Masterpiece Gala dinner at the spectacular Bürgenstock Resort. For those of you who don’t know it the Bürgenstock Resort is perched 500m above Lake Luzern. It is a stunning property which just a few years ago had CHF 500 million invested into it. The 10’000 square meter spa area makes it the largest spa in western Europe.
This weekend was to celebrate the unique Steinway & Sons Black Masterpiece Spirio/r piano. An absolutely stunning creation which can be both played and play by itself. You don’t need to be able to play the piano to justify owning one of these.
The whole event made me realise that life is beginning to return back to normal here in Europe. The celebration gatherings are taking place and more and more of you are also going to be invited to special events.
The perfect time to write about “What to Wear for a Night Away with Steinway”.
What to Wear for a Night Away with Steinway
First things first – remember it’s only one night away so one really shouldn’t stress about packing too much stuff – or at least that is my motto!
Whenever packing to go away I always convert my arrival/travel outfit to be the same or similar to my leaving outfit.
Being the Bürgenstock Resort the outfit had to be a cross between casual yet classy at the same time.
Whilst wearing a simple t-shirt – it’s one with a special detail to it. The blazer is a fun one from Maison Common – available at Maison Gassmann.
Note the current blazer trend is either still oversized or else to really go shorter again.
Take a sneak peak at the bottom of the blazer – the lining of this one is super cute.
When deciding what to wear for the evening I decided to be open as long as it was something velvet – one of the hottest trends for this Fall!
Fringes are also hot as are embroidery details like those on the belt.
When going for a different style like this you need to make sure the shoes go along with the whole outfit. My regular super high pumps would have looked wrong. This was the time to go for a chunky heeled velvet sandal that teamed perfectly with the velvet of the dress.
This was one black dress that certainly made an impression – not to be forgotten too quickly – smile.
Dress and belt from Etro available at Maison Gassmann.
Relaxing on sofa after dinner.

Next morning and going home outfit:
The simple trick of wearing what you arrived in and still looking different at the same time.
I exchanged the sneakers for bright green loafers. The pink slip under my blazer this morning replaces yesterdays t-shirt.
I guess you could say the whole outfit is “same same” as the arrival outfit, yet different.
