Now that we have the May holidays behind us, it really is time to think about Summer vacation. One of the biggest Summer vacation issues I personally have is what the sun and beach do to my hair. Due to a recent discovery (all available in Szena Les Coiffeurs), I am feeling much calmer this year. With the knowledge that I now have the perfect products that are both small enough to travel with and will protect my hair from damage caused by sand and sunshine.

PS: what do you think of the beach waves – I am really in love with these. Such a fun thing to do as a change from my everyday straight hair. My tip is to ask for Samira at Szena Les Coiffeurs – she really does the best beach waves in Zurich and is super fast at the same time.

What I am Packing on my Summer 2024 Holiday

1. For my main longer Summer vacation:

I take this special sun care cleansing lotion for both hair and body. It has been especially formulated to remove chlorine and salt buildup.

Then the sun care protective hair veil which is super easy to spray on and leave in the hair. Forming an invisible screen helping protect the hair from the sun and additional dryness all day long.

The Aveda beautifying body lotion is what I use every day. I like the smell and texture of it so much that I tend to take it wherever I go – except for smaller weekend trips.

2. For smaller trips or weekends away:

Having been on the look out for small but good quality travel hair and body products I am super pleased to discover these collections from Aveda:

The curly collection for those days when I am going to have my beach wave look.

Having mesh in my hair I’m always on the look out for great colour control hair products. I have found that using this line from Aveda has really helped my mesh colour look fresh longer.

These are the two moisturising lotions I always take with me. If really tight for space I’ll only take the hand relief but it doubles up as being my body moisturiser on short trips.

3. The bag for my every beach or lakeside trip:

The enshalla bags, made in Morocco.  There is a wonderful story behind these bags made out of recycled materials. Enshalla employs women in villages around Marrakesh who would otherwise not be able to earn an income due to their status in society. Enabling the women to become more independent in have a better life.
