Vogue Agrees – The Hot Bag Trends for 2025

Vogue Agrees - The Hot Bag Trends for 2025

Hi Everyone,

Going through my street style pictures of the September fashion weeks trying to pick out the truly hot bags for 2025 was a truly interesting exercise.

This year the trends are certainly more about the style/shape of the bag rather than the brand. In fact one of the fun games true fashionistas seem to be playing these days is finding the right style of bag made well by a lesser known/upcoming brand rather than one of the top high street labels. A great example of these would be Margesherwood bags – (absolutely not a collaboration proposal – simply a recent discovery of mine).

The crossbody way of wearing bags is on the back burner this year. Replaced by shoulder, hand held, or simply tucking bags under the arm. Matching shoes and bag will always indicate a well dressed woman, however the colour pop theme once again emerges. This is when the bag colour has nothing to do with the rest of the outfit – other than providing a fabulous pop of colour.

Enough of an introduction – keep on reading to find out more about “Vogue Agrees – The Hot Bag Trends for 2025”

The Doctor Bag

THere’s a wonderful sense of functionality here. Doctor bags tend to be small yet fit all sorts off paraphernalia inside them. Just make sure you don’t make yours too heavy – smile.

There are plenty of top designer options for these such as MiuMiu, Jin Sander and even Hermes. Alternatively you might like to discover a cheaper not so well known brand to be unique and still keep up with the trend. Personally I am a fan of the Masha Keja Juliette doctor bags.

Slouch Silhouettes

After several years of structured bags ruling the runways, 2025 sees the comeback of the soft touch bag with avengeance. It’s like if you have nothing else to hug, at least get a huggable bag – simile?

Often worn over the shoulders or tucked under the arm – the choice is yours.

East-West

Alia’s “Le Teckel” (meaning dachshund) bag became a cult bag in 2024. Now, 2025 we see many other designers adopting the same sausage-like proportions.

I remember having something similar in the 1980’s, but the white one in the next photo is truly something else if you ask me – smile!

Belted Bag

The new Prada belted bag is a highlight on the accessory front for 2025. But it’s not the only brand with belted bags…

Colour pop

There’s something about adding a pop of colour to an outfit and I’m obviously not the only one who loves this. In any case if you’re also a fan of colour pops keep it up as it’s still a hot trend for 2025 when it comes to handbags.

Suede

Suede bags don’t make it to my wardrobe – or haven’t yet – simply because they do mark so very easily. However I have been told that this is exactly the retro effect one should aim for.

Now that I think of it I bought a beautiful moon shaped suede bag in Paris years ago but it didn’t take long before it was passed on to my daughter. These days I am almost envious when I see her wear it – haha!
