Tulle in the City

Hi Everyone,

Have been wondering whether I dare start this post with a confession… Truth is Winter is the time of year I start getting lazy about dressing up. Concentrating too much on the fact that it’s freezing outside. You’ll all too often find me wearing simple skinny black pants or leggings, black boots and a puffer jacket… Yes it’s true.

Of course parties are different but general every day is as mentioned above.

Realising this lit a creative spark within. So here you have it … well and truly wearing tulle in the city for Saturday shopping!!!

Creating the look by firstly hunting high and low through wardrobe to discover items that hadn’t been worn for a while. Then putting together a combination that had never been worn before. Voila a totally new look!!!

Keep reading for a little more inspiration about tulle in the city.

Tule in the City

Upon leaving the house it didn’t seem that cold. Having dressed far too warm the day before I decided to replace thick coat with tone in tone trench coat.

By lunch time the wind picked up dramatically so I was thankful that my blazer was extra thick – keeping the ghastly cold wind at bay.

I’ve had this jacket for a couple of years now. Despite loving it to pieces for some reason I almost never wore it last Winter. Confession number 2 – please tell me this happens to you too.

The bag and boots are new. Fell in love with the thick colourful strap of the bag (gifted).

Boots bought on sale whilst in town one day feeling “dressed wrong” whilst wearing simple white sneakers. Confession number 3 – please tell me this happens to you too – smile!

Love this outfit so much I promised self to only wear fun outfits going forward… A bit like trying to stick to a diet. Confession 4 – this week I have been roaming round in nothing other than black pants, sweaters and boots until finally having an external business meeting this morning!

  1. If I saw you on the street I would most definitely stop you and tell you I like your outfit! What a wonderful skirt and a great attitude. I understand your struggle – the black tights/sweater and puffy jacket combo is hard to get away from! Winter can be de-motivating! You
    look wonderful.

    1. That’s so sweet of you Angela – you know I really did get strangers coming up to me complimenting me – I think because it is a little different to what most people wear shopping 😉

  3. Your outfit is so fun and stylish Yvonne , I get in a no winter imagination uniform too ! But I do try to change it up with my outer wear coats and boots , to make it somewhat interesting .
