We know maxi dresses have been crawling their way back into the fashion scene for a few seasons now but what is this seasons maxi dress? Trend alert tells us stripes, off the shoulder and pale blue are all top on the hot list. I managed to find a dress with all three characteristics, creating the 2017 Maxi dress must have!
How to style was the next question – not always so easy to answer especially when it comes to the maxi dress. Recently however I discovered Zalando’s Editorial which is really a great goto place for daily style inspirations. Why not check it out too!
Trend Alert – the 2017 Maxi Dress Must Have
Having found this dress online at Shein I realised it wasn’t going to be that easy to style. Online it is shown as being worn with trainers. A look which I love to pieces. However, being short I knew this wasn’t going to work for me. Inspired by looking at Zalando’s Editorial I decided to team it up with a pair of block heeled sandals.
As a final touch I decided on a little black and white cherry and gingham bag which ties in nicely with the silver sandals.
The dress also works with this lovely Caroline Dechamby bag which is great for when enroute as a photographer as it’s the perfect size for my camera. It’s actually a backpac but can also be worn as a simple shoulder bag.

Love the outfit. Maxi dresses are a bit of an enormous challenge for me as a petite. I think this one would make me look even smaller. On you, it looks absolutely great!
Your little bag would of course be just perfect for me. I like the size (petite is always good!) colours and pattern and the cherries give it a playful touch.

The trick with maxi dresses for most people is that you need to wear them with heels – even though they are almost always shown on models wearing flats.
So with heels I am sure you would look adorable in a maxi dress!!!
