Top 10 Spring/Summer 2022 Trends direct from MaxMara – Milan Fashion Week

With Spring just around the corner it seems the perfect time to scroll back through the photos of the Spring/Summer Max Mara show in Milan last September.

Personally I always love Max Mara as they have such classic designs which remain fashionable for years. This show however was a real positive surprise in that the brand seems to have ventured out of it’s comfort zone and really dared to show a few bold and exciting facets. Something a little different from that same traditional Max Mara style.

Loving the pops of colour, the way-out structured fabrics and colourful sunnies to name a few of the Spring/Summer 2022 new trends.

Top 10 Spring/Summer 2022 Trends direct from MaxMara – Milan Fashion Week

1. Orange

One could not miss the fabulous appearance of bright orange this season. Such a refreshing colour that was actually spotted throughout the last MILAN FASHION WEEK – not only at Max Mara.

So if you own anything bright orange hold on to it – you will need it this coming Spring/Summer!

 

2. Black is back!

Whist black is never really out of fashion there are those years where black is an extremely trendy colour to wear in Summer. 2022 is one of those years!

Back to the all black. It seems that if you choose to wear black you should make sure everything is black including accessories!

 

3. Stripes

Stripes are a major hot topic this coming Spring/Summer. Whilst we’ll still be seeing lots of florals in the high street shops the true ongoing trend lies in stripes.

We saw many matching short coats and skirts/tops walking down the runway – loving this striped ensemble!

 

4. Knit

The knitted dress has been a hot item throughout this Winter and the trend is here to stay. Wear lighter colours or sleeveless knitted dresses for the warmer season.

Am loving the crochet look above…

 

5. Return of the shift dress

Whilst the shift dress has been sitting on the back-burner for several past seasons, this Spring/Summer sees it coming back with vengeance. To think I nearly liquidated mine at the end of last Summer!

Especially cute set to own are matching shift dresses and just above the knee coats.

 

6. Shorts

Dressy shorts and skirts will be seen with abundance this coming Spring/Summer. If this is your thing it’s certainly worth investing in a statement set.

 

7. Structured fabrics

Anything with a bit of fun added to it is also a trend of the coming season. DOn’t you just love the petal like look added to the outfits shown here.

Think one of these is definitely going to have to make it to my wardrobe too!

 

8. Short Skirts

In fact in general the lengths of both skirts and dresses is on the rise once more. Of course one still sees the maxi floating around but then it should be really long. Otherwise it’s back to wearing above the knee length skirts. Let’s face it – this is the best way to get brown legs in Summer anyway – smile.

Note the shorter skirt is not only for the super skinny…

 

9. Colourful Sunglasses

The more colourful the sunglasses the better. This is the year we really need several pairs of coloured sunglasses in our wardrobe.

At least matching glasses for each of our colourful outfits – this is going to be fun!

 

10. Matching bags

Along with monochrome colourful outfits, 2022 is also the year of the matching bag. Loving the yellow with yellow, orange with orange, brown with brown and even the monogram denim with matching monogram denim bag.
