The Secret Power of Pastel Pink

Hi Everyone,

Pastel pink is hot hot hot at present – we see it everywhere especially when teamed with red. However there’s much more to wearing pastel pink than most know about. We don’t usually associate pink with power but it has a truly unique hidden power of it’s own.

The Secret Power of Pastel Pink

DSC_7398This is a true story about last Sunday – a tremendously cold and grey day. Getting ready for the weeks photo shooting I initially dressed in dark colours, my hubby was in total black, my daughter too and the mood was dull – weather inspired. I also felt really dull. In a desperate attempt to cheer up I totally changed from a dark to pastel pink inspired outfit.

The mood of everyone instantly lifted.  The pretty pink provided a glimpse of light and happiness in a super cold grey day.

We even ended up dancing together during the photo shoot:

…and the pink gave me power to jump…

  1. Funny that you posted on this color. I just read an article in WSJ about how pink is making a comeback because the younger women don’t see it as bad. I know some of the women my age steer away from anything too feminine because they want to be taken seriously!! But now it’s fun to have fun with our clothing!!
    Great post, Yvonne!

    1. Thanks Jodie. I know what you mean – I even wonder about the bits of pink on my website as most have black which looks more contemporary and serious…in any case I do love wearing pastel pink – it has that certain feel about it 😉

  2. This is such a fun post Yvonne and I love the pic of you jumping too! You can jump high. I totally agree with you how there were so many days living there that I just thought ‘I’ll wear black again’ but I LOVE bright colors, especially pink and pastel pink. Your look is perfect head to toe and that jacket looks so warm.

Great post and nice read for Valentine’s Day!

  3. I do not own a lot of pastel pink, but I want to add a pair of blush kicks to my wardrobe this spring. I love your fun photo shoot! Thanks for linking up over at Fabulous Friday!
