Back in Zurich wearing an absolute favourite new outfit made especially for me by my dear friend Conny from Connys Couture.
Now I have a challenge for you!
Go to your wardrobe take a good look and analyse how much of it you actually wear, how much is fast fashion, how much simply doesn’t look right but you keep just in case you need it…
It’s an interesting exercise and one we really should all be doing. Especially now as fast fashion is becoming less of a trend. Many of us are finally understanding the negative effects it has on the environment and the fact that in reality it simply is not sustainable.
The time has come to revisit our wardrobes and really revisit our spending habits and how to cultivate a wardrobe which really suits our needs.
Imagine if no matter what you took out of your wardrobe and put on, you would feel special. Knowing no one else will have the same. Knowing that it is perfect for wherever you are going…

The Reason Why Couture is the New Way Forward!
The answer to cultivating what you imagined above lies in couture. I know many of you will be shaking your heads at this point saying “she is out of her mind, we can’t afford that”. However before you fixate yourself on that take a good look at how much you currently spend on clothing.
For sure you won’t be able to buy the same amount of clothing if you move to couture. Instead you will cultivate a truly beautiful wardrobe over time.
Do note however cultivating the right couture for you is about having a say in both the design and fabric your clothing is made out of. It is not a journey for those without imagination!
It is a journey though, for anyone who takes pride in their appearance and has appreciation for clothing well made.
When starting the couture journey be kind to yourself – don’t go “cold turkey”, purely couture and nothing else. Start with one piece per season and simply reduce the amount of other clothing you buy. This way your wardrobe will still be a nice mix of easy and special clothing and your overall clothing budget will not be hit too hard.

I love this outfit so much – it is one of my absolute favourite Summer ensembles. It also works well worn with other tops and bottoms. Not to forget the added advantage of knowing no one else will have an outfit that looks quite the same!
