As with animal print, tartan too is certainly here to stay this coming Fall/Winter. However this season sees a new trend. Quite possibly as a reflection of the growing hype for monochrome, this coming Fall/Winter we see tartan placed on bold one coloured backgrounds.
In particular the Tartan coat is no longer seen as something to simply sling over your outfit to keep warm. Today’s Tartan coat is designed to form a part of your overall outfit. The intention is that whatever you wear underneath also forms a part of the look that goes with the coat.
It’s a time for you to really think about your preferred colour scheme for the season and get your wardrobe organised accordingly. This post showcases style ideas for your red or green Tartan but you might also go for another colour base such as yellow or blue.

Green styling
A personal favourite colour of mine just now is green. With so many green pieces in my wardrobe I could keep this green coat happy for days…
Note how wearing a green beanie and green sweater really make the green coat pop out.
You don’t have to wear green with the green coat but the colours underneath should tone in nicely to the coat – as with the grey sweater.
Fun fact: green is for peace, growth and balance. Sounds like a fabulous colour to wear in Winter don’t you agree?
Red styling
I love wearing red in Winter – it cheers me up every time no matter what the weather looks like.
Red beanie and red coat should almost be a must in every wardrobe if you ask me.
The biker boots are another must have this Winter. These also come in winter white and are lovingly lined with sheepskin. Simply perfect for those cold days ahead.

Love both outfits and would wear them in an instant. I both love red and green. With the black trousers and boots… a smashing outfit.
The jumpers cannot be wool though. Too itchy for me.
