In some ways it seems like the Autumn 2018 trends have been designed just for those occasions. The mixing of patterns with tartan and houndstooth featuring high on the hot trend list. Go one step further and simply mix and match a couple of your tartan or houndstooth pieces. They don’t have to be identical to still look like a purposefully put together outfit.

For those of you not in the corporate world – this can also be turned into a great going out, meeting the “gals” type of outfit!

The Hottest Corporate Style Trend for Autumn 2018

Lets start with the houndstooth/tartan (argh can’t decide which it really is), coat. I know I just featured a lovely Burgundy and blue one here  and you might think one of these in your wardrobe is enough… but this one is lighter weight, has different colour nuances and is slightly shorter. To cut a long story short, I decided my wardrobe needs both.

The great thing about houndstooth is that you can team it up with another type of houndstooth still achieving that corporate suit look but with a bit of an edge.

Gone with simple black pumps – can’t go wrong with these. This season the higher the heel the better. In honour of maintaining feet sanity this may mean wearing sneakers to work, changing into heels once inside.

The good news is that it’s really, as in REALLY OK to ditch the white shirt and replace it with a flimsy floaty top. depending on your skin tone silver grey is a great colour to go for. Black or Burgundy are other colours you might like to try for a bit of a bolder statement.
