The Hot Layering Trends for Autumn 2024

Hi Everyone,

As soon as September hits, so does the realisation that Autumn is right at our doorstep. It’s as though one day I’m in a bikini and the next I’m grappling through the wardrobe to find something cosy and warm.

I’m excited about the layering trends for Autumn 2024. It’s no longer simply about adding layer upon layer. This year it’s also about showing shape when layering. Even oversized jackets/blazers will be seen worn pinched in at the waist with a pretty belt. In fact it’s time to get all your belts ready. Wear them over jackets, sweaters, coats or anything else. The main thing is that there is some sort of shape to your outfit.

Colours are also new with both dark navy and chocolate brown taking the role of being the new black. When wearing lighter tones monochrome styling or tone-in-tone outfits rule this season. Do keep this in mind when adding the final layer to any outfit this Autumn.

The Hot Layering Trends for Autumn 2024

First things first – the baseball cap is almost a must have this coming Autumn. Be sure to get one that matches the colour of tops you are most likely to wear.

Layering for effect

A simple top and pants can look very boring and make you look older if you don’t add something fun to the outfit. So today I’ve added a thin slightly frayed jacket. This gives a tiny bit of added warmth but my main reason for wearing it is to add interest to my outfit.

Note the little turquoise stones on the belt – another hot trend for Autumn 2024.

Almost monochrome

Have chosen a trench that is pretty much the same colour as my trousers and bag. I’m such a fan of the camel monochrome look…

You can never have too many hoods

Hoods are another hot topic for Autumn 2024. The more the merrier. It’s also ok to wear a hooded sweater with a hooded trench. Try this – it will add a bit of fun off any outfit and give it a youthful twist – smile!
