Hi Everyone,
There’s certainly something special about that feeling of crisp cotton on the skin that makes one feel alive…An elegant cotton blouse will never date. Going through my Milan Fashion Week pictures confirmed the necessity of a good blouse in every wardrobe for Autumn.
The one I am wearing today is from the Swiss based company Atelier Emeraude and has a fantastic story behind it:
The material of each blouse was originally a mans shirt that was not sold for some reason (i.e: wrong sizing, cut, colour, etc.). This means that each blouse is unique. They are designed to truly turn every outfit into something special. The cuts are so carefully done that the blouses simply fit great and look fabulous on anyone. Not only that Nicole Rudolph (founder and owner of Atelier Emeraude), regularly updates and adjusts her designs. This year she was ever so pleased to see similar patterns on the Dior runway. She proudly tells me she had this design long before it was on any runway – smile!
Atelier Emeraude however was designed with great thought towards sustainability and the future of fashion. In Nicoles own words:
“70% of the clothes in our wardrobes are never worn.
Trends, quality, changing lifestyles are all contributors to this situation.
Our BESPOKE UPCYCLING SERVICE is focused on extending the lifespan of these treasures. We will understand what made you fall in love with that piece and why you haven’t been able to enjoy it so far. By redesigning and repurposing them you will enjoy your new favorite outfit once again. “

For evening out or in the office:
You simply can’t go wrong by teaming a statement blouse with a classic pencil skirt. Two pieces you can truly keep forever.
This whole outfit has an interesting story to it. The skirt is one that has been in my wardrobe for at least 12 years now and I haven’t worn it for 10 of those. However I simply could not through it out because it is so well made and simply fits perfectly. Perhaps this Winter I will finally take it out of the closet more often. The Hubs said he liked it in any case – smile!
Proving my point that one has to be careful when sorting out the wardrobe… These days both Hubby and I have the concept of throwing something out whenever we add something new to the wardrobe. This is a great concept as it makes you think twice before you buy and you don’t end up with your wardrobe filling up exponentially.
The shoes have also been in the wardrobe for 8 years now – MSGM, gifted at the time from Zalando. Of course I have never walked far in them but they do come in handy for special evenings out.
2. Casual meet up with friends, weekends or going to town on a Saturday morning
I love the fact that you can really play with this Atelier Emeraude blouse. Teaming it with jeans here, emphasis has been placed on keeping the whole look casual. Almost as if you walk out of the door looking stylish by mistake – smile. The bow is left undone and the blouse is tucked in just ever so slightly at the front to give the body some shape but keep a very chilled appearance overall.

Concluding message:
This article has been written in collaboration with Atelier Emeraude but all opinions are my own. I can honestly say I am totally in love with my blouse and how it simply turns every outfit into something special.
