The biggest style mistake to make with high waisted trousers is to cover up the waist by wearing something long or bulky over the top.
High waist bands are meant to be shown! You can still wear a bulky sweater with them provided you tuck part of the sweater into the waist and allow it to still be shown off. More on that topic here.
The best way to style your high waisted trousers is by teaming them up with a skinny, figure hugging top fully tucked in. Worn like this has the advantage of both showing off your waist and giving your legs a bit of added length.
This rule holds true for both wide and skinny high waisted trousers. Wide legged trousers have the added advantage that you can wear them longer by teaming them with super high heels – making your legs look taller still!

Those are great high waisted pants. I love the big pockets on the front of them and I totally agree that they look much better when paired with a form fitting top.
