The best present for the Man who has it all – haha, don’t worry I’m not going to suggest you buy him a Ferrari – smile!

We’ve all been there haven’t we. Another Birthday, Anniversary or Christmas crops up and the dilemma begins… what gift should we give “the Man” in our lives. This year was a particularly tough decision for me. It was our 20th Wedding Anniversary and so the pressure was on!

Then I stumbled across a brilliant online gift site that literally lifted the weight off my shoulders in seconds – geschenkidee.ch.

It was just so easy. All I had to do was fill in 3 parameters (sex, age and relationship) and this handy site came up with a wonderful selection of suitable gifts. It didn’t take long for me to realise the perfect present for my hubby this Anniversary was going to be a special experience to remember, (see post about our official Anniversary weekend here).

The best present for the Man who has it All

With a husband who loves going on short road trips and has a passion for cars, the package deal of a nite in a French medieval castle coupled with a Ferrari driving experience on a race track was the perfect gift! (Direct link here).

The Castle – Chateau de Chapeau Cornu

The castle itself was built in the 13th century and really had that medieval feel to it. Although obviously recently lovingly renovated with a particular attention to detail.

Couldn’t believe my luck when someone walked by with a bunch of balloons – just had to take them as part of the photo shoot!

Set in the middle of the French countryside approximately 130km drive south of Geneva. It was so peaceful a fabulous place to visit and really set your mind at rest from the hectic city life or busy office week.

I personally loved the tranquility walking around the gardens – getting inspiration for my own garden back home.

Dinner

La Capella – the castle restaurant has been open since 2005, serving the most amazing gourmet dishes – dinner was almost even better than the driving experience (haha don’t telly my hubby).

…mind you, you’d have to agree he looks happy here – smile!

The Ferrari driving experience

The Ferrari driving experience was located at Circuit du Laquais, approximately 30 minutes drive from the chateau. The day we went the race track was especially set up for anyone wanting to drive a luxury sports car on the race track – regardless of how much experience they may or may not have.

With a whole range of different cars to choose from… It was sweet seeing many locals at the track, giving the driving experience as a present to their loved ones.

The geschenkidee.ch package includes, driving 2 circuit rounds of the Ferrari F458 yourself.  Followed by being a passenger for another two rounds in a Ferrari F458 Italia Challenge,  driven by a professional race car driver.

Conclusion:

Super happy to have found this fabulous, easy to book castle plus Ferrari driving package. The castle was a real dream especially if you want to get away from it all. The driving was great fun for my hubby and he was happy to have had the opportunity to test drive a Ferrari. Of course it is not the same as a regular track day. Just in case “your man” is a real petrol head!
