The Bad Weather Summer Must Have!

Hi Everyone,

Summer is one of those funny seasons where everyone obsesses about having enough skimpy cool summer dresses, shorts and t-shirts. However in reality – especially in the Northern Hemisphere – there are also many cooler days!

On my recent trip to Sydney fashion week I met up in person with a dear Instagram friend of mine @Sundaystyler. She has the most brilliant online store filled with carefully selected contemporary items. I should say contemporary with a modern twist. Even better though every item in her shop is under $100.

Is it that the Australian winter is so mild or that the Australian’s simply know summer best? In any case I discovered this fabulous knit dress on her site and it has been my absolute “goto” dress for bad weather Summer days this season.

The Bad Weather Summer Must Have!

The dress came folded up in a plastic bag, however I simply unfolded put it on and it looked perfect. Brilliant for travelling if you ask me!

Thin knit fabric yet with a bit of weight to it so it keeps me lovely and warm on those 20° and less days in Summer.

Having the buttons start at an angle means the dress adapts to different shapes and flatters both the super slim and fuller figure!

Am wearing with red pumps here but the first time I wore the dress I teamed it up with sneakers. The sneaker look worked just as well. One could say the shoes decide where this dress is going…

I deliberately chose red bag and shoes to give the whole look a more summer feel to it. You could team it up with all black but be careful not to wear too chunky a shoe in this case.

My dear friend Beatrix from Ask the Monsters took these pictures for me. She tried to get me to do that real model pose… I think there’s a part of me with too many laughing genes to ever stay straight for an appropriate length of time…

This picture in particular reminds me of Holly Hobbie – anyone else reading this remember this character? Perhaps the hat is missing – smile!
