Hi Everyone,

Recently I heard that Switzerland could self sufficiently produce enough food to feed it’s entire population if it had to. With this at the back of my mind I was super interested in going to the Victoria Jungfrau Grand Hotel & Spa – Interlaken last week to try out their new “Z’Menu Vo Hie”.  All ingredients come from within a 40km radius.

Chef Stefan Beer researched the best ingredients in the area. Talking to locals, visiting different local farmers. I love the story about the dessert where the entire ingredients come from one farm alone.

Each course is carefully paired with matching wine.

Lets face it after a wonderful meal like that all you want to do is roll upstairs to an ever so comfy bed and room…. so here are a few pictures of what you could expect..

…transformed originally from a private home to a bed and breakfast and finally to the grand hotel as it stands today…

As their lovely 150 year celebration book says:

Even now, it’s easy to imagine Mark Twain or the King of Siam sitting on the terrace with it’s magnificent pillars, enjoying unobstructed views over the Höhematte to the three peaks of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau

These impressions just touch the surface of this amazing hotel with it’s over 5’000 square meters of wellness (I must try this next visit), 2 restaurants, 2 bars and 22 conference rooms.

 

A huge thank you for the wonderful night – I can only recommend the Victoria Jungfrau Grand Hotel and Spa from the bottom of my heart!
