Swarovski to the Rescue – Activity Tracker Jewellery!

Sauntering through Baselworld again this week I had to double take as I saw the words “Activity Tracking Jewellery”. At first glance it looks just like one of Swarovski’s regular bracelets containing an extra large crystal.
Swarovski and Misfit joined forces to combine advanced tracking technology into jewelry. The concept is great with designs that can be worn during the day, whilst doing sports – even swimming, or dressed up versions for special occasions.

The Activity Crystal uses a replaceable CR2025 coin cell battery that lasts up to 6 months so you don’t have to worry about charging it every week – brilliant. It is compatible with both iPhone and Android smartphones/tablets and has all the regular tracking features for movement and sleep including the option to define your own personal fitness goal.

The Swarovski Activity Jewellery comes in three versions:

Slake (also available in pink, black, white, blue or black with coloured crystals)

Vio Pendant and Cardoon

Prices are definitely cheaper if bought in the US – see misfit.com, but these are now also available to the rest of the world under Swarovski.com.

At CHF 219 for a complete set including the activity tracking crystal and two bracelets (one with Swarovski crystals and the other more suitable for sports activities) they are still priced in range of other activity trackers such as the Jawbone which doesn’t have nearly the same aesthetic appeal and based on experience (with 3!!!) – is guaranteed to break down within a year! Lets hope Swarovski lasts longer.
