Hi Everyone,
If there is one thing that is essential in any Fall 2021 wardrobe it is a piece of velvet. Either a dress, top, trousers or suit. What you choose doesn’t matter just do make sure you have one piece of velvet this coming Fall. You might already own a piece, in which case now is the time to put it in the front of your wardrobe.
The fabulous thing about velvet is that you can dress it up for the most fabulous of Galas or team it with sneakers, boots or flat mules for every day wear.
Some velvet will be floaty and soft, others more rigid and stiff. Choose your velvet according to the life style you lead. Regardless of whether it is dressed up or down, velvet will always make a statement.
The velvet pieces in this post have been designed by a favourite Swiss designer Marina Anouilh. You will find them online here.

Styling Tips for this Fall’s Must Have Velvet
My favourite velvet blouse
This beautiful rich red velvet blouse is such a statement on its own that one of the truly best ways to style it is with a pair of simple jeans.
Wear a pretty cashmere scarf draped around for extra warmth but whatever you do make sure to leave the neck line open. No wearing the scarf wrapped around your neck as this will seriously destroy the effect of the velvet shirt.
Another fun styling tip is to team your velvet blouse with a piece of statement gold. You have to admit the whole effect of rich red velvet, statement gold bracelet and then red nails leaves a somewhat exotic feeling – smile!
Styling velvet trousers
Beautiful fitting velvet trousers are a great thing to have in your wardrobe. Team them up with a plain white top or velvet blazer to create a suit.
I love these velvet trousers as they are both perfectly fitting on top yet floaty and soft at the same time.
I spotted another pair of wide leg velvet trousers online here. Also super nice worn with a chunky sweater and heels.
Velvet dress love
There is truly something special about a velvet dress. The trick is to go for the right colour. Stick to rich darker tones such as emerald green dark red or black. These tend to have the most impact when it comes to a velvet dress.
This one is available online in both green and black here.
Not wearing shoes in these photos out of respect for the sofa, However styled as above with statement jewellery I would then team the dress with pretty gold heels.
I’d wear the same dress into town shopping but teamed with a leather belt, chunky sneakers and finer jewellery. Or with pointed boots and a cowboy hat – smile!
This particular dress can also be worn without a belt. Great for entertaining/ simply being comfy yet stylish in one.

I can really see that velvet dress on you.

I adore that red velvet top. That is my perfect red. The shape, the material, the length and width… all perfect. Alas I agree with you to leave the neckline open. And that is where all my wrinkles are. Which I don’t want to show. My choice.

I have the solution: You wear a statement necklace it will hide your wrinkles…
